Event management: Planning and carrying out an event, including coordinating with the event team and overseeing execution
Venue securing: Handling contracts and schedules with venues and vendors
Guest accommodations: Ensuring all guests are accommodated while circulating the room
Event setup: Setting up for events, including carrying trays and serving guests
Multitasking: Working quickly and efficiently to keep the banquet running smoothly
Banquet coordinators should also have the following skills:
Attention to detail: Ensuring every aspect of the event goes according to plan
Communication: Interacting with customers, vendors, and staff members, and effectively delegating tasks
Problem-solving: Adapting to unexpected challenges or changes during an event
Vendor management: Having a sound knowledge of vendor management
